Happy [Belated] Birthday, Android!

Greetings to all of our readers! I have some special news for everyone; news that I did not know until just a few minutes ago!

I'm guessing that everyone here has probably heard about a little smart phone OS called “Android,” am I correct? Well, it has been brought to my attention that our good little friend, the Android robot along with its amazing OS, just turned 5 years old yesterday! That's right folks, as of November 5th, 2012 Google's Android Operating system is 5 years old.

Let's take a minute to think of all of the joy, pleasure and perhaps even anger that our dear friend has brought to all of us.

Like any good birthday, there must be a gift of some sort, right? Well, in celebration of Android's 5th birthday I am pleased to announce that as of yesterday Android holds 75% of the world smart phone market. A little over 136 million, that's 136,000,000 devices today, are running some iteration of the Android Operating system, stats which come from directly from Google and all of the Play store visits they receive each day.

So have a happy late birthday Android!

Before I go I do have one question for all our readers: The little Android robot; does he have a name? If no, leave us a comment with suggestions for his name, and as always, please leave us suggestions or ideas for future articles.
